Why I Chose Adena: One of the most important aspects of choosing a PGY1 residency to me was finding an environment where I felt that I would be supported. On my interview day, I was immediately drawn to the energy of the precepting team here at Adena. I could tell that they were passionate about their roles in teaching and developing residents into clinical practitioners, which in turn made me excited about the opportunity to be a part of the program.

Why I Chose Adena: The pharmacy residency at Adena offers a wide breadth of experience and learning while also providing the intimate team feel of a smaller rural hospital. Through my experiences on rotations here as a student pharmacist and the interview process, I knew that the whole department would be supporting my career growth throughout the residency. I have always had a passion for caring for rural and underserved communities in health care, and Adena allows me to care for these communities while developing in my career as a new practitioner.

What did you gain from your residency at Adena Regional Medical Center?

Beyond the educational and real-world experience value that residency provides, the greatest benefit it can give you is a deeper understanding of yourself as a practitioner and as a person. Going into residency, I had been set on inpatient practice, but I unexpectedly found that I had a real talent and passion for ambulatory care during my anticoagulation rotation.
