Adena Urgent Care and walk-in clinics provide same-day care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries at seven locations across south central and southern Ohio. Patients can walk in for care or schedule online when they need prompt medical attention that cannot wait for a primary care appointment.

Our urgent care teams include physicians and advanced practice providers who care for patients of all ages. When additional care or follow-up is needed, they can help connect patients with Adena primary care providers, pediatric specialists, and other services across the Adena Health system.

Adena Urgent Care also works with care teams at Nationwide Children's Hospital, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and Adena Pediatrics to help coordinate care for patients with additional medical needs.

On-site testing and imaging

Depending on the location and medical need, services may include on-site X-rays, EKG testing, and testing for flu, COVID-19, RSV, and strep throat.

When further evaluation is needed, our teams can help connect patients with primary care, specialty care, or emergency services.

Urgent care or emergency department?

Choosing the right place for care can help you receive the appropriate treatment faster. Urgent care is intended for illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention but are not life-threatening. Emergency departments are equipped to treat severe or potentially life-threatening conditions.

Choose urgent care for non-emergency needs

Urgent care may be appropriate for symptoms and injuries such as:

  • Cold, flu, COVID-19, and RSV symptoms
  • Allergies, sinus infections, and earaches
  • Sore throat and possible strep throat
  • Urinary pain or urinary tract infections
  • Vomiting, diarrhea, or mild abdominal pain
  • Minor burns, cuts, sprains, and strains
  • Possible minor fractures
  • Rashes, pink eye, or minor eye irritation
  • Sports and school physicals

Go to the emergency department or call 911

Emergency care is needed for serious or potentially life-threatening symptoms such as:

  • Chest pain, especially pain spreading to the arm or jaw
  • Difficulty breathing or severe shortness of breath
  • Sudden confusion, weakness, facial drooping, or slurred speech
  • Severe head injury or a sudden severe headache
  • Major burns or uncontrolled bleeding
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Vomiting blood
  • Serious pregnancy complications
  • Loss of consciousness or other severe symptoms
