Progress updates
October 2025: Preparing to rise
In October, crews:
- Finished pouring building foundations.
- Wrapped up underground utility work leading up to the new building.
- Completed the concrete stairwells and elevator shafts.
- Brought in cranes and equipment to prepare for the start of steel construction.
- Finalized plans for the hospital’s exterior materials and wall panels.
With the first steel columns and beams going up early this month, the structure will soon be clearly visible from the road — another exciting step toward bringing more advanced care and greater comfort to Fayette County.

September 2025: Steady progress as the new hospital takes shape
In September, crews:
- Continued pouring footers and foundation walls.
- Completed underground utility work, including storm, sanitary, and water lines.
- Began masonry work on stairwells and elevator shafts.
- Built a sample section of the hospital’s exterior to review finishes and test materials.
- Finished additional site grading and compaction to prepare for what’s next.
With the foundation nearly complete, the building is beginning to take shape. We’re one step closer to a new hospital designed to bring better care and more convenience to our communities.

August 2025: Building the foundation for what’s ahead
Progress is becoming more visible at the site of the new Adena Fayette Medical Center. In August, crews focused on critical steps to prepare the hospital’s foundation and future structure, including:
- Installing underground systems such as water, gas, electric, and sewers
- Removing and relocating utility lines to clear space for construction
- Compacting fill material to raise and stabilize the building pad
- Pouring the first concrete footer on August 29
- Beginning early work on stairwells and exterior materials
Each of these steps is helping transform the site from groundwork into a hospital that will bring advanced technology, expanded care, and greater comfort for everyone in Fayette County.

July 2025: Laying the groundwork for the future of care
Construction is officially underway — and while the new Adena Fayette Medical Center may not look like a
hospital just yet, every step is bringing us closer to a stronger future for rural health care.
Since the June groundbreaking, crews have focused on behind-the-scenes but essential work, including:
- Setting up construction trailers.
- Installing a temporary sidewalk for site safety.
- Placing gas and electric lines underground.
- Beginning prep for future electrical service.
These early milestones may be easy to miss, but they’re a vital part of what’s ahead: a modern facility with advanced technology, expanded care, and a better experience for patients and caregivers in Fayette County.
