Bringing nationally ranked care closer to home
Adena Health’s partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital allows our smallest patients to receive expert care from specialized pediatric providers and helps bring nationally ranked care and expertise closer to home for patients and families.
Pediatric hospitalists from Nationwide Children’s are board-certified and specially trained to treat patients from birth to 18 years of age. They are on site at Adena Regional Medical Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing physician services in the emergency department and inpatient setting for those patients requiring additional monitoring.

Pediatric hospital care
Nationwide Children’s pediatric hospitalists care for children with a wide variety of illnesses and medical needs. These include, but aren’t limited to:
- Care of newborns
- Emergency department and urgent care support
- Infectious illnesses
- Level II nursery care
- Respiratory illnesses
- Problems with chronic illnesses such as asthma
- Common pediatric illnesses such as flu and dehydration
- Recovery from injuries or surgeries
Pediatric hospitalists are committed to helping care for your child from admission to discharge. Upon discharge, hospitalists prepare a detailed report of findings and treatment plans that is also sent to your child’s primary care physician. This collaboration fosters seamless coordination between Adena and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, leading to the best possible outcomes for our patients and your family.
