Arrival and check-in
Your visit begins in a welcoming, comfortable space designed for you and your support team. Our waiting area offers a calm environment where loved ones can stay close while you are being evaluated or preparing for the next step in your care. In triage, our nurses and providers assess how labor is progressing and evaluate both your health and your baby’s well being. This is where we answer your questions, review your birth plan, and determine the best next steps for your care.
Throughout your pregnancy, you’ll build relationships with our dedicated women’s health providers. Because deliveries can happen at any time, the provider who delivers your baby may be different from the one you see for your prenatal visits. Our team-based approach ensures that every provider is familiar with your care plan and committed to supporting you and your baby every step of the way.

Labor and delivery
Our birthing suites are designed to combine advanced medical technology with comfort and privacy. These spacious rooms allow you to labor, deliver, and begin bonding with your baby in one location. You will be supported by a skilled team focused on safety, clear communication, and honoring your preferences whenever possible. From pain management options to delivery support, your care is centered around you and your baby.

Recovery and bonding
After delivery, you will move into recovery, where rest and healing are the priority. Our team continues to monitor you and your baby while supporting early bonding, feeding, and family time. We provide education, encouragement, and hands on guidance to help you feel confident as you begin this new chapter.
If your baby needs additional observation or care, our nursery provides a safe, nurturing environment supported by experienced clinical staff. Parents are encouraged to stay involved, ask questions, and participate in their baby’s care whenever possible. Our goal is to ensure your newborn receives attentive, high quality care while keeping families informed and connected.
If your baby needs additional support, our Level II Special Care Nursery combines the expertise of Adena’s certified neonatal nurses with Nationwide Children’s Hospital providers. Designed for infants born as early as 32 weeks, the nursery offers bedside monitoring and a warm, low-stress space that keeps families involved every step of the way.
