Eligibility for Hospice Program
For your loved one to be eligible for our hospice program, they should have a life-limiting illness with an expected duration of six months or less. Additionally, they should:
- Be under a physician's supervision
- Have a caregiving plan in place
- Be informed about their diagnosis and what to expect
- Reside in a secure environment
- Live within the regions covered by Adena Home Care Services, which include:
- Fayette
- Highland
- Hocking
- Jackson
- Pickaway
- Pike
- Ross
- Vinton
- Not be receiving any curative treatments
- Understand that our hospice focuses on palliative and comfort care
- Prefer to stay at home

Adena Hospice is proud to be a member of LeadingAge, an organization representing over 5,000 nonprofit aging service providers. LeadingAge is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the elderly through research, advocacy, and education.
Our program, with over 25 years of service, is recognized by Medicaid and Medicare, licensed by the state of Ohio, and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc. (ACHC). We also hold accreditations from:
- Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice
- National Association for Home Care & Hospice
