Phototherapy

Light therapy is a medical treatment that is used to treat various skin conditions, including acne and psoriasis. Light therapy also is used to help treat mood disorders, such as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

Various types of light therapy are used to treat numerous skin conditions, including psoriasis, acne, and eczema. The amount of light that is distributed depends on the severity of the condition and the health of the patient.

Phototherapy uses UV lights to slow the rapid process of skin cell growth and is helpful in treating certain skin conditions such as psoriasis.

Another form of light therapy is the use of photodynamic therapy, which involves the application of a photosensitizing drug that is activated by light exposure and a light source. This type of therapy process is used to treat minor forms of skin cancer and acne.
