Black History Month Spotlight: Marketa Vannoy

Adena Health System celebrates the achievements of Black Americans and the positive impact they had and continue to have on this country and the communities we serve. We recognize Black caregivers in all levels of health care that serve and care for the well-being of others every day despite challenging and uncomfortable obstacles as we all work together for equality.

Adena is committed to creating an inclusive environment that respects the human dignity and diversity of each member of the Adena family. Everyone deserves and will be treated fairly and equitably. We recognize and celebrate the value of diverse cultures, beliefs, identities and race.

As we celebrate Black History Month, help us recognize Medical Lab Technologist Marketa Vannoy.

Marketa is a proud graduate of Shawnee State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science. An Adena caregiver for over 40 years, she continues to be driven by a passion towards caring for others.

In her free time, Marketa enjoys spending time at church, quality time with family and friends; including her son and grandson. She is well respected among her peers and in the community. When asked what keeps her coming back each day across four decades to serve patients and her community, she replied with ease “I enjoy my work and the impact Adena makes.”
