Immigration resources
The following information is intended as general resources and are not all-inclusive. Circumstances in the immigrant's individual story are important to know when making referrals. Consent to referrals is needed including releases of information to share information with referral sources. Translation services are available in Adena Health System. Please consult your supervisor about how to obtain translation services.
Supportive resources for immigrants
The following links are resources to assist with immigration-related issues. Informed consent and understanding of referral are important when working with connecting immigrants to resources.
General resources
Catholic Charities of Southwestern Ohio
Do not need legal status for services. Services provided include: adjustment of status, deportation defense, family-based visa petitions, naturalization, humanitarian relief, special immigrant juvenile status petitions, and deferred action. To schedule an appointment, call (513) 672-3746, email ils@ccswoh.org. Online referral is also available.
Immigrants regardless of status can access this resource. Agency has bilingual social workers to assist and direct clients.
Lists youth services and programs in and around central Ohio. The agency provides general directory of various resources for Hispanic and Latino populations
Community Refugee & Immigration Services (CRIS)
An independent non-profit organization that serves the refugee and immigrant populations in central Ohio. Program services include resettlement, relocation, job preparation and placement, immigration legal services, mentorship, community engagement, elder and family programming.
Provides support to keep families together and protect immigrants’ civil rights. Area of work include:
- Free consultations with licensed immigration attorneys
- Deportation relief
- Citizenship preparation
- Assistance for unaccompanied children, DACA and asylum seekers
Primarily resources for successful integration in the local community and interpreting resources. Have some health-related programming.
Ohio Latino Affairs Commission
Has resource information from job info, resources and advocacy with lawmakers. It is a government entity so discretion needed in using this connection.
Must have legal status to access - The goal of the Refugee Program Services Section is to provide services that help refugees and others granted refugee status achieve economic self-sufficiency and social adjustment within the shortest time possible following their arrival in the U.S
