To address the food insecurity in our region, Adena has partnered with area farmer's markets to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to those who are experiencing food insecurity. Patients who need assistance are given a voucher and can take it to a farmer's market listed. The voucher is then exchanged for fresh fruits and vegetables.

Vouchers are available in many of our physician practices or through Care Management staff. Patients are limited in the number of vouchers he or she can receive in a year. Patients cannot receive more than 7 vouchers per year.

Area farmer's markets that participating in Adena Health Fresh Food Rx are:

• Chillicothe Farmers Market - open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon at Ross County Service Center, Chillicothe. Winter hours are from 10 a.m. to noon.
• Fayette County Farmers Market - open Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon at 101 W. East St., Washington Court House (is only open from May 8th - September 25th)
• Ways Farm Waverly Market - open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 403 East Emmitt Ave., Waverly. This is a seasonal market so is only open in the spring/summer and early fall.
