Food distribution options

There are several food distribution options in our area for those who qualify. Please find the county you are looking for: Fayette; Highland; Hocking; Jackson; Pickaway; Pike; Ross; Scioto; or Vinton County. This is a collection of resources across county lines. Please visit connected websites for more details.

Please note, that this directory may not be all-inclusive list of pantries in that area. Another search related resource is FreshTrak. This provides what is available in many communities on a daily basis. It does not include everything available nor does it have resources in every community. 

Fayette County  -  Printable List

Fayette County Food Pantry - Recipients may receive food at the Pantry once a month.  They are required to show financial need by filling out the “Federal and State Eligibility to Take Food Home Form” based on income.   These forms are kept and updated each time a recipient comes to the pantry.  We are a choice pantry which allows families to choose what their family will use from a large variety of both fresh and canned food items.  The amount of food received is based on family size. Food Pantry Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 1-3pm; Produce Alley: 1st Friday/3rd Monday.

Heritage Food Pantry -  is a ministry of Heritage Memorial Church that is provides a food pick-up to residents of Fayette County that meet the MidOhio Food Bank income requirements. Photo ID and proof of residence in Fayette County are required for this resource. It's open Mondays from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Ph: 740-636-1111.

Military Chow Hall - The Military Chow Hall Food Pantry and Service Center is a 501(c)(3) organization that operates on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 9am to noon. The Military Chow Hall Food Pantry and Service Center serves veterans and active-duty service members of the following branches:

  • Air Force
  • Army Coast Guard
  • Navy
  • Marines
  • Space Force
  • *National Guard and Reservists (service outside of weekend training is required)*

Highland County -  Printable list

Greenfield Area Christian Center - provides food, clothing and basic household items to those living in the Greenfield Exempted Village School District. Assistance is available once a month. Ph: (937) 981-5172.

Highland County Community Action Emergency Pantry - The food pantry provides 3 meals per household member for a 3 day supply of food. Applicants must be residents of Highland County and have a gross income under 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines . Applicants may receive food pantry assistance no more than once a month and only once within a 30-day period.

Samaritan Outreach Services - Operates a food pantry serving anyone living within a Highland County School System.  To make an appointment for service, call Mondays or Tuesdays from 10am to 4pm. All pantry visits are by drive-thru appointment only.  No walk-in service is available. Hocking County - Printable List

First Presbyterian Church of Logan -  First and Third Thursdays of each month from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The goal of the food pantry is to help provide food and other essential items, which helps some of our community neighbors through the month.  Canned and packaged food products, along with various fresh and frozen items are available.  In addition, we provide some cleaning and personal hygiene products, including infant and adult diapers.  

Laurelville Food Pantry - Provides shelf-stable groceries, frozen, and/or fresh produce to residents in need in four townships in  Hocking County - Perry Twp., Saltcreek Twp., Laurel Twp., and Benton Twp. The pantry is open every Wednesday morning from 10 am -12 pm at the Administration Building of the Laurelville Elementary School.

Smith Chapel Food and Clothing Mission - offers food boxes, clothing, infant and feminine needs, and household items to help those in need. Location is: 1333 East Front Street; Logan Ohio 43138. The pantry is open on the 3rd Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Vincent Food Pantry - provides quality food items to households experiencing food insecurity. This program supplies critical nutrition to hungry individuals and families. Program is at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. It's open Monday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Ph: 740-385-2549.

Jackson County - Printable List

Bethel Ridge Food Pantry - provides quality food items to households experiencing food insecurity. This program supplies critical nutrition to hungry individuals and families. Ph: 740-988-2895. Located at: 2840 Whaleytown Road, Jackson, OH 45640. Open Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Jesus in the Hills Pantry - pantry provides quality food items to households experiencing food insecurity. This program supplies critical nutrition to hungry individuals and families. Ph: 740-988-2260. Located at: 1240 Beaver Pike, Jackson, OH 45690. Hours are Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

My Brother's Place - pantry that serves Wellston area. Ph: 740-418-3118 Location: 116 S Railroad Ave - Wellston. 

Jackson County Food Pantry - 740-286-5937 - Location: 323 E. Broadway St. - Jackson. Hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10 am-1:30 pm

Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church / Christian Life Academy Food Pantry  - 740-286-1234 offers Ladle of Love  bi-weekly community meal program through Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church (1st and 3rd Sat at 12 p.m.)

Transforming Lives Through Christ, TLC Ministries  - community food give away events (2nd Monday of the month 11am-2pm). Ph: 740-384-4872. Location: 22783 Ohio 93, Wellston, OH 45692. Open Monday - Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

JAFE  - provides community food give away events (last Saturday of the month) 102 Cherokee St. #49 M-F 10-3 740-710-0183

RSVP of the Ohio Valley  - Ph. 740-286-4918, resources for senior citizens, food assistance and food give away events, weekend backpack program for school age children

Emergency Clearinghouse Food Pantry - Located at 722 Clinton St, Circleville OH, 43113.  Hours are: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri: 1pm - 3:45pm; Thurs: 1pm - 6pm and Sat - Sun: Closed. Must bring proof of income and photo ID to access resources.

Pike County Outreach Council - 107 W. Second Street, Waverly - Ph: 740-947-7151. Provides food for Pike County residents on an emergency basis. Must have picture ID. Limited to one visit every 7 days. Hours:  Monday-Friday 9-3, Thursday 6-8, Saturdays 10-1. Bring proof of address. Ph: 740-947-7151

Good Samaritan Food Pantry - Located at 255 N. Woodbridge Ave, Chillicothe, OH. Ph:  740-774-6303.

Hope Clinic - Offers a mobile food market on the second and fourth of Monday of each month at Centerpoint Church. 

United Way of Ross County sponsors a fresh produce market at three locations in the county throughout the month. Produce pick up sites change periodically. Current locations are the main branch of the Chillicothe-Ross County Public Library and Huntington Schools. A Bainbridge location is to be determined. Please visit the United Way's website for updates.

Zion Baptist Church - pantry is at the Outreach Center, 536 Mill Street. Zion's Food Pantry open on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 10:00

Rarden Daily Bread - 1693 Main Street, Rarden 740-372-6245 Serving to go meals daily 4-5:30 PM.

Homeless Shelter - 615 8th Street, Portsmouth 740-353-4085 Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM-2 PM. Requires photo ID and number in home; eligible every 30 days.

First Presbyterian - 221 Court Street, Portsmouth 740-353-4259 

Second Presbyterian - Corner of 8th and Waller, Portsmouth 740-353-4159 Wednesdays 10 AM-2 PM. Closed first Wednesday of month. Requires photo ID, social security cards for everyone in home, proof of residency; eligible every 30 days.

St. Francis Catholic Outreach Center (Catholic Social Services) - 2311 Stockham Lane, Portsmouth 740-353-3185 Second and last Thursday of month from 9:30 AM-12 PM. Requires photo ID and number in home.

Beech Fork Church - State Route 348, Otway 740-372-4841 Second and fourth Thursday of the month from 10 AM-1 PM. Requires photo ID and number of people in home.

Wheelersburg United Methodist - 11605 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg 740-574-2900 Third Tuesday of the month 9-11 AM. Requires photo ID, proof of residency and social security cards for everyone in the home.

South Webster Food Pantry - 8 Potts Street, South Webster 567-644-3720 Monday 9-2:00 or call for emergencies and senior boxes first Tuesday of month. Requires photo ID and recent mail to establish residence.

Vinton County offers a published list of county food access resources. 

St. Francis Outreach Center - 404 W. South St.- McArthur, OH 45651 - Open Monday through Friday, 9:30 am-1:30 pm. Proof of income required. Persons are permitted to pick up food one time per month. Ph: 740-596-5820
 

Miscellaneous Resources

740 Rescue Kitchen - At the 740 Rescue Kitchen, the mission is to fight hunger, reduce food waste, and strengthen our community by transforming surplus food into nutritious meals for those in need. There are several distribution locations in our region.

Find Help - also a resource finder that has a large reach. Food resources are sorted by meals, emergency food, pantries, and delivered meals. You can print information by resource in this platform.

FoodFinder - connects the people looking for emergency food to the programs and places that offer it.The finder is updated by programs so does not have all information included.
