CHILLICOTHE, OH (Sept. 16, 2026) – Lauren King, a lifelong Washington Court House resident and longtime Adena Health leader, has been named vice president of Adena’s west market and senior operations executive for Adena Fayette Medical Center and Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
In her new role, King will provide leadership for both hospitals as Adena continues to expand access, strengthen care delivery, and enhance the patient experience for residents throughout Fayette and Highland counties and the surrounding communities.
King brings extensive clinical and operational leadership experience to the role, along with a deep understanding of the communities and teams she now serves. She began her nursing career at the former Fayette County Memorial Hospital in 2012, and in 2014 joined Adena as an emergency department nurse at Adena Regional Medical Center.
She also worked at Adena Greenfield in 2021 as nurse director, where she led nursing operations that included the inpatient unit, emergency department, surgery, respiratory services, noninvasive services, wound care, the specialty clinic, and care management.
Recognized for collaborative leadership, building high-performing teams, and advancing clinical quality and patient-centered care, King will lead both hospitals at an important time for the west market. In Fayette County, construction continues on the new Adena Fayette Medical Center, which is expected to welcome its first patients in early 2027. The 65,000-square-foot critical access hospital will offer enhanced specialty care, new technology for treating more complex cases, greater privacy and comfort, and additional amenities designed to improve the patient experience.
For King, the opportunity to lead Adena’s west market is about more than a new leadership role. It is an opportunity to help shape the future of healthcare in the communities she has always called home.
“I know what this is going to mean for this area because I’ve seen what it means when my own family doesn’t have to travel to find quality care,” King said. “The new Adena Fayette Medical Center is going to make a real difference for everybody here.”
King credits Josh McCoy, her predecessor, and now Adena’s chief operating officer of acute and ancillary services, with establishing a strong foundation in both communities. She said that foundation, along with her confidence in the leadership teams at Adena Fayette and Adena Greenfield, positions the west market for continued progress.
“I have the best of both worlds,” King said. “I still enjoy working in my adopted Greenfield home, but I also have been given the chance to support my actual Washington Court House home. That is just amazing to me.”
