A farewell of gratitude

Sep 28, 2025

Jeff Graham Adena Health

As I reflect on my career at Adena Health, I often think about the five women who founded this organization back in 1895. What would they think if they could see our health system today — a vibrant network of providers, caregivers, and community partners, all working together to care for one another and for the 400,000 people we serve. I believe they would be proud, just as much as I am, of what Adena has become 130 years later.

Since returning to Adena as president and CEO in 2017, and throughout my two decades with the organization, it has been the honor of my career to work alongside the remarkable people who are the heart of Adena. Our providers and caregivers bring skill, compassion, and dedication to every patient and family they encounter. Their work reminds me every day that health care is about connection, trust, and service that extends far beyond the walls of our hospitals and clinics.

I am also grateful to the communities we serve. Thank you for placing your trust in Adena and for working together with us to provide care. To our community partners who stand beside us in advancing health and well-being, and to the local, state, and federal leaders who have supported us, thank you for your collaboration and commitment to strengthening rural health care in south central and southern Ohio.

I begin this next chapter of life with deep gratitude for every single person who has helped to make Adena a place of hope and healing. I am filled with pride knowing Adena is stronger today than when I found it because of what we have accomplished together. Your dedication has made Adena not only a stronger health system, but a lasting source of pride for generations to come.

It has truly been a blessing and an honor, thank you.
