Conditions

Achilles tendon – tear, rupture, injury

Damage to the tendon connecting the calf muscles to the heel, often caused by sudden stress or overuse.

Peroneal tendonitis

Inflammation of the tendons on the outer side of the ankle, causing pain and swelling.

Posterior tibial tendonitis

Inflammation or tearing of the tendon supporting the arch of the foot, leading to flatfoot.

Tendinitis

General inflammation of tendons in the foot or ankle, causing pain and stiffness.

Ankle fracture

A break in one or more bones forming the ankle joint, often caused by trauma or twisting injuries.

Calcaneus fracture

A break in the heel bone, commonly caused by falls from heights.

Fracture of the talus – Broken ankle bone

A break in the talus bone, which forms part of the ankle joint, often due to high-impact injuries.

Lisfranc fracture or dislocation

An injury to the midfoot bones or ligaments, often caused by twisting or heavy impact.

Metatarsal fracture

A break in one of the long bones in the foot, commonly caused by overuse or trauma.

Stress fracture

Tiny cracks in the bones of the foot or ankle caused by repetitive stress or overuse

Osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLT)

Damage to the cartilage and underlying bone of the talus, causing pain and instability.

Ankle sprain or sprained ankle

Stretching or tearing of ligaments in the ankle, often caused by rolling or twisting.

Ankle instability

Chronic looseness or giving way of the ankle due to repeated sprains or ligament damage.

Chronic lateral ankle pain

Persistent pain on the outside of the ankle, often caused by sprains or instability.

Plantar fasciitis

Inflammation of the plantar fascia, a band of tissue on the bottom of the foot, causing heel pain.

Tarsal tunnel syndrome

Compression of the tibial nerve in the ankle, leading to pain, tingling, or numbness.

Flat foot

A condition where the arch of the foot is flattened, causing pain and instability.

High arch (cavus foot)

A condition where the arch of the foot is too high, leading to foot and ankle instability.

Bunions

A bony bump that forms on the joint at the base of the big toe, causing pain and misalignment.

Claw and hammer toe

Deformities of the toes causing them to curl or bend abnormally, often leading to discomfort.

Drop foot (foot drop)

A condition where the front of the foot cannot be lifted, leading to dragging during walking.

Hallux rigidus (stiff big toe)

Stiffness and pain in the big toe joint caused by arthritis or injury.
