Adena Health System is accredited by the Ohio State Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association to provide Continuing Medical Education (CME) for Physicians.
When applicable, Adena supports a multi-disciplinary approach by providing CE opportunities for additional health care disciplines including Rehab, Pharmacy, Social Worker, Chiropractor, and more.
We partner with other institutions to develop collaborative events for the communities we serve.
Educational activities must be accurate, current and objectively presented with content appropriate in depth and scope for a physician audience and address demonstrated educational needs.
An educational purpose and/or objectives must be clearly identified, communicated and presented through appropriate learning formats. Evaluation mechanisms are used to assess an activity’s quality and relevance.
Documented monitoring of evidence-based quality measurements is used to develop objectives and topics for educational events offered to a multidisciplinary audience, and to measure gains in physician knowledge, competence, performance, and/or patient outcomes.
Here is a list of courses currently offered:
Review current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) guidelines and participate in intensive realistic scenarios in a simulated code blue environment. Participants are given adequate time for questions and answers with the instructor.
Scenarios include (but are not limited to): synchronized cardioversion, pulseless ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, PEA, asystole, symptomatic bradycardia and respiratory distress/failure.
This evidence-based, teamwork approach utilizes expert collaboration between senior physicians and newly graduated physicians to ensure that the most recent practice information and skills are being utilized. This opportunity builds teamwork and ensures the sharing of medical care knowledge between experienced providers and recent graduates (Specific topic objectives are identified from evidence-based data for each session.)
These monthly seminars were developed to help establish coordinated, unified, multi-specialty practices and promote patient-centered, protocol-driven, literature-based care while incorporating standard outcome measures.
Participants will discuss how to improve the quality of spinal care in the region while providing educational and practical guidelines to a broad audience. (Specific topics are identified from evidence-based data for each session.).
Join us to discuss cancer cases prospectively before treatment begins and provide multi-specialty care decisions after diagnosis. All tumor boards are for Adena staff and students only and are held at the Adena Cancer Center in the Ribbons of Hope conference room. Tumor boards are walk-in style and registration is not required.
Breast: Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon–1 p.m.
Head and Neck: Fridays, 7–7:30 a.m.
Colorectal/GI: Fridays, 7:30–8:30 a.m.
Thoracic/Chest: Thursdays, 7:30–8:30 a.m.
