If you have concerns about lung cancer, Adena offers lung cancer screenings for at-risk patients using a simple, painless, low dose CT chest scan.
We also offer educational opportunities to help you greatly reduce your risk for getting lung cancer, which includes not smoking, eating healthy, exercising regularly and limiting your exposure to environmental factors and second hand smoke.
If you suffer from asthma, this procedure may help. During three outpatient sessions, a physician inserts a bronchoscope through the mouth or nose and into the lungs. Mild heat is applied to remove excessive smooth muscle. Less smooth muscle decreases the narrowing and constriction of airways when exposed to triggers and during an asthma attack.
