Raised in Akron, Dr. Makishi received his medical degree from The Ohio State University and completed his residency through Chesterfield Family Medicine Residency Program in Richmond, Virginia.

“Throughout residency, I really enjoyed all the clinical areas and learning about every aspect of care,” he said. “Because of this, I chose to specialize in primary care. Since being at Adena, I have greatly enjoyed seeing patients of all ages and providing services for all types of health care needs.”

Dr. Makishi was inspired to become a physician at the age of 12, when his younger brother broke his arm. “The whole process was so fascinating to me,” he explained.  “ This led me to shadowing doctors and after a while I decided that medicine was the right path for me.”

Dr. Makishi  looks forward to building long-term relationships with his patients and the staff of Adena Chillicothe Family Physicians. “I have fallen in love with Chillicothe and the people here,” he said.  I am fully committed to this community and am looking forward to serving patients of this region for many years.”

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, family and trying new restaurants.
