Adena Health announces new family medicine clinic in Wellston
WELLSTON, OH (May 7, 2025) – Adena Health today announced plans to relocate and expand its Wellston-based primary care clinic into a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility. The project represents a significant investment in rural health care access and economic development for Jackson and Vinton counties.
The new Adena Family Medicine – Wellston, to be located at 2 East A Street, is scheduled to open in early 2026.
“This project reflects Adena Health’s continued commitment to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve,” said Jeff Graham, Adena Health president and CEO. “We began looking at opportunities to expand our services in Wellston back in 2020, so to see this becoming a reality is special for us. The current clinic has served as a vital community resource since opening in 2015. However, it has exceeded its capacity and its ability to meet patient demand. With more space, more services, and greater accessibility, we’re better positioned to meet the growing health care needs of this area for years to come.”
The new family medicine clinic will be nearly 8,600 square feet, more than four times the size of the current facility. Designed to better serve the community, it will include expanded waiting areas, additional exam rooms for both primary and specialty care, and improved parking. A key highlight is the addition of a drive-thru retail pharmacy, aimed at addressing a critical community need.
The project is the result of a strong collaborative effort between Adena Health and the Jackson County Economic Development Partnership, with vital funding support from the Appalachian Regional Commission. It has also received broad state and community backing, including from the Ohio Department of Development, the City of Wellston, and the Jackson County Board of Commissioners, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing rural health care.

Construction of the new Adena Family Medicine – Wellston is expected to begin this month.
