Adena Pike Medical Center is operating as normal today, following a water line break that occurred early this morning. At approximately 2 a.m., a water line serving the sprinkler system froze and burst near the main entrance, resulting in some flooding of the lobby area, nearby hallways and a surgery suite.
Because the sprinkler system was affected, an alarm went out to the local fire department. There was no fire. Patient rooms were not impacted and patients were never in any danger.
Due to the water damage in the lobby area, patients and visitors must enter and exit the hospital through the doors near the Emergency Department until further notice. Patients with questions may call (740) 947-2186 for more information.
