Immunizations
Preventing illness today and tomorrow
As a parent, your job is to protect your children and keep them safe. You buckle them into car seats, you make them wear helmets when they ride bikes, and you make sure they eat their peas and carrots. Don’t stop there. If you want to keep your children safe, talk to your pediatrician or family physician about getting your child immunized against devastating diseases that can affect them as children and beyond.
Below is a chart of the vaccines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Click here to download a copy of this chart. If you’d like to build a customized immunization record for your child, go online to the CDC.
In addition to the immunizations below, the CDC recommends that children 6 months and older receive annual flu vaccinations.
- The flu shot contains inactive flu virus and is considered safe for most people 6 months of age and older. The flu shot is administered in the upper arm.
