About Jeffrey Rose
MD.
As a practicing Oncologist of eight years, Dr. Rose provides many services specializing in the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, lymphoma and blood disorders.
Coming from a family with a health care background, Dr. Rose’s interest in medicine sparked as a child and continued to grow over time.
“I knew I wanted to interact directly with patients and help people overcome difficult times and what better field to get the chance to do that in than oncology” said Rose. “The evolution of science, technology, medicine and treatment options is another factor that drove me to become an oncologist.”
After earning his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completing his Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at the University of Iowa, Dr. Rose worked as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Ohio State University’s James Cancer Hospital, where he focused on research in gastrointestinal and colon cancer.
Dr. Rose enjoys using his academic background to provide patient education on topics such as the importance of screenings and living a healthy lifestyle. Along with being very passionate about new cancer treatments and medicine, he is extremely passionate about the relationships he builds with patients and families while providing care.
“The relationships you build as a physician is such a unique experience, in the sense that it is almost like a family,” he explained “I try to help my patients balance life and cherish family while coping with the challenges of cancer.”
Dr. Rose is looking forward to working with the rest of the Adena Cancer Center team and admires Adena’s multidisciplinary approach to patient care.“Working with a team and administrative staff that was supportive and caring was very important to me,” he said “After visiting the Cancer Center, I was extremely impressed with the state-of-the-art facility and the quality of care provided. Being from Grand Island, Nebraska, the Midwest is home and in many ways Chillicothe is similar to my hometown.”
In his free time he enjoys restoring cars and is currently remodeling a home for his family.
