Growing up in Waverly has given Dr. Scott Howard, DO, of Adena Family and Internal Medicine – A Department of Adena Pike Medical Center, a special connection to the community.  Dr. Howard takes special pleasure in seeing familiar faces and also meeting and caring for new patients from the Waverly, Ohio area.  At Adena Family and Internal Medicine - Waverly, Dr. Howard treats patients of all ages from babies to the elderly with special emphasis on diabetes care, high blood pressure management, high cholesterol treatment and prevention of heart disease.  Being the father of three active boys has helped increase Dr. Howard’s understanding of children’s illnesses and sports injuries. He routinely performs sports physicals and well-child exams for student athletes throughout this southern Ohio community.

As a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO), Dr. Howard understands the importance of total body health to manage and control chronic diseases such as fatigue, diabetes, hypertension, GERD (acid reflux), allergies and acute illnesses such as sinus infections and bronchitis/pneumonia. 

Dr. Howard’s passion is his Christian faith and that passion comes through in the care and compassion he shows for his community and Adena’s network of health services.  Dr. Howard is proud to be associated with the Adena Health System for bringing family medicine and specialty health services to Waverly so that residents can get premier healthcare at home without having to travel miles to see a specialist.
