Adena Family Medicine – Circleville is pleased to welcome Primary Care provider Dr. Elizabeth Cordial back to the place she calls home.

“I grew up in Pickaway County and am a graduate of Logan Elm High School,” said Dr. Cordial. “I know the culture here, I know the people here and I am very excited to be back to care for them.”

From the age of five, Dr. Cordial knew that one day she would be a doctor. “I was always interested in science and medicine, however, I had no idea of what that looked like until the age of 17 when I began volunteering as an EMT for the Clear Creek Township Fire Department,” she said.

 After learning from her experiences as an EMT, Dr. Cordial knew that being a physician was her calling. “The lessons I learned at such a young age were very rewarding in the sense that I knew I could handle the depths and breadths of medicine and that I was indeed capable of doing it.”

 Dr. Cordial earned her medical degree from Write State University in Dayton and completed her residency through Marshal University in Huntington, West Virginia.

When asked why she chose family medicine opposed to other specialties, Dr. Cordial said it was because of the variety of patients she will care for and not knowing who or what could walk through the door on any given day. “I am so fascinated with the idea that at some point I can take care of three or four generations of a family at once,” she said. “I am very excited because I am already seeing grandparents, parents and children of families here in this clinic.”

 While her heart is with her pediatric patients, Dr. Cordial also enjoys focusing on preventative care with all her patients. “I think educating patients is one of the most important jobs a family physician has,” she added. “I believe creating manageable goals for my patients is the key to seeing success in their health and ensuring they understand the importance of them, so they can develop lifestyle changes and habits.”

Dr. Cordial is very excited to be back in Circleville with her family and working for Adena. 

When not caring for patients, she enjoys racing four-wheelers with her husband, watching her stepdaughter cheer, being a girl scout troop leader and crocheting.
