Working in the community as a nurse practitioner for Adena Chillicothe Family Physicians, A Department of Adena Regional Medical Center, has given Marsha Ward, CNP the privilege of connecting one on one in a personal relationship with her patients and their family.
Family medicine allows Ward to meet patients wherever they are in their lives. “I feel it is a privilege to connect one-on-one and develop relationships with my patients and their families,” said Ward.
Ward offers wellness and follow-up care for all types of chronic conditions, including diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure. She also holds her certification as a Diabetes Educator and specializes in the caring of patients with diabetes. By caring for patients throughout their lives, Ward is able to help detect the early signs of diabetes and provide education and treatment earlier to ward off the onset of diabetes or lessen its devastating effects.
“My philosophy of care is based on caring for patients as they adapt to the changes life brings across their lifespan,” she said. “Across the lifespan, we go through different life changes – illness, wellness, and family dynamics. Being able to adapt to these changes is important”.
As a mother with three teenagers, Marsha Ward seeks to help patients through education and understanding of their unique health circumstances.
