About Jose DeJesus
Dr. Jose DeJesus, a member of Adena’s first class of Osteopathic Interns to ever train at the Health System, now serves as a Family Medicine doctor with a strong focus in Emergency Medicine.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico until the age of 10, Dr. Dejesus landed in the medical field by circumstance. After graduating high school, he joined the Army and got married. Once out of the Army, he found a job at the local lumber mill working for the company’s EMT team. This is when he discovered his love and interest for medicine.
Dr. Dejesus earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from West Virginia Wesleyan University and went on to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he earned his medical degree.
Dr. DeJesus completed his fourth year rotation at Adena and was so impressed with the kindness of the staff and all that Adena offers patients in our region that he decided this was the right place to serve his internship and the right place to continue serving his patients as a Primary Care Physician. “I am from a small town; I wanted to practice in a small town, so when the opportunity came to be there it was a perfect fit.”
