Adena Health System invites everyone to join us in building healthy, thriving communities by taking part in the inaugural Adena Move More Community Challenge May 2 – July 24 .
The 12-week challenge encourages participants to add at least 90 minutes of activity to their weekly routine. What you do is up to you. Whether it’s walking, running, biking, or an exercise class, the goal is to commit to making physical activity a part of your lifestyle.
“Our region has high rates of obesity related problems including diabetes and heart disease,” said Kim Jones, Adena Director of Community Health Advancement. “Increasing your activity is a great way to reduce the risks of developing these problems or helping to keep them under control. Just 90 minutes of exercise per week can make a big difference.”
The Move More Community Challenge is free and everyone who logs at least 90 minutes or more each week for all 12 weeks will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win some great prizes including: an Apple watch, kayak, treadmill, weekend get-away, and more.
Participants can register online at www.movemorehallenge.com. Weekly tracking is easy as well. Each week, participants will receive an email with a link directing them to the website where they can log their activity time. The website will keep track of all minutes and also include helpful tips on diet, exercise, and suggestions for walking paths in the area.
Registration is open now, and participants must be signed up by May 7.
