Adena and YMCA’s Family Fit Program to Start in Jackson

Program Intended to Help Families Adopt a Healthier Lifestyle

Families resolving to be healthier in 2014, are encouraged to register for the inaugural six-week session of the Family Fit Program, sponsored by Adena Health System and the Jackson Area YMCA. The program is also made possible thanks to a J. Floyd Dixon grant.

Family Fit is a fun-filled, family oriented program that will start children and their families on a lifetime journey of health and confidence. Each class brings together families with children between the ages of 6 and 14 for two hours, one day a week, for six weeks. Classes include: cooking demonstrations, meal planning, exercise, and behavior counseling taught by Adena dietitians.

The Family Fit Program will begin on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, with classes held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. The program consists of six consecutive sessions, meeting each Thursday at the Jackson Area YMCA, located at 594 E. Main St., Jackson.

Adena Health System is focused on the health and future of our region’s children and families. Our team of physicians and dieticians are available to help members of our community adopt healthy habits that are intended to make a positive, lifelong impact on the wellbeing of our children and families.

The six-week, Family Fit Program costs $50 per family, which includes all materials and a three-month family membership to the Jackson Area YMCA - at no additional cost. For more information about the Family Fit Program or to register call (740) 286-7008.
