Patients today are taking greater responsibility for their health care needs. Our Physicians are working with patients and their families to provide highly personalized and sophisticated care at Adena while taking advantage of the best practices available in the treatment and management of disease and illness.

With the help of government agencies, consumers have a steady stream of data available to assist in making informed decisions about their health care and potential outcomes. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission, for example, require all hospitals to submit data on processes of care. Meanwhile, the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) have produced the first national, standardized, publicly-reported survey about patients’ perspectives of hospital care. That information is updated quarterly on the CMS website. The Ohio Department of Health also provides quality outcome information for patients on its website.

Patients have access to that information and also are encouraged to ask their healthcare providers about topics such as infection rates and clinical outcomes, to better understand the care they are receiving.

Adena Health System is committed to delivering the best quality and safest care possible, as well as making our clinical outcomes, patient experience scores and process measures readily available. We believe transparency is a path to patient trust.

The Quality and Patient Safety Department works collaboratively with healthcare providers across Adena Health System and emphasizes the importance of evidence-based best practices in the care of our patients. It’s part of our commitment to be the best.

Rock Star Award Program Nomination Form

What is it?

A quarterly recognition program for Adena Health System caregivers not in nursing disciplines.  The ideal nominees are caregivers who provide compassionate, high-quality care to our patients.
