About Adena Nursing Camp
Three Days in the Life of a Nurse
What is Nursing Camp?
Adena Health System, in collaboration with the United Way, is offering a nursing focused summer camp to current high school freshmen and sophomores, who have a career interest in a nursing. The camp will have two sessions 1) June 10-12 and 2) July 8-10 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and will be held at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
This unique three-day camp allows students to experience life as a nurse through a variety of opportunities. Students will be given the chance to shadow nurses in specialty areas such as Surgical Services, Women and Children’s, Emergency Services, Critical Care, the Adena Cancer Center, Outpatient Family Medicine and Information Technology.
In addition to their shadowing experience, Adena nursing camp students will receive hands-on training in patient care, first aid and CPR certification in Adena’s Virtual Hospital.
Who is Eligible?
Adena’s nursing summer camp is free to high school freshmen and sophomores in these Adena service counties: Fayette, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Pickaway, Pike, Ross and Vinton.
How Do I Sign Up?
The camp is limited to just 30 participants, so students are required to complete an application and provide a letter of recommendation from their school guidance counselor or a teacher. Click here to download the application.
