Adena Health Services has good news. Its surgeons now offer many types of minimally invasive surgery, including robotically-assisted surgery with the new DaVinci® robot.

With minimally invasive surgery, you’ll generally be out of the hospital in less than 24 hours, plus you’ll have less pain and less scarring—just a few small incisions. Recovery also is much quicker—often just days or a few weeks, compared to a month or two for traditional surgery.

Adena’s daVinci robotic surgical system enables gynecological procedures to be done more precisely and less invasively. Surgeons use the daVinci’s 3-dimensional camera to view a magnified image of the surgical site on a computer monitor, and then manipulate miniaturized instruments that have been inserted through tiny 1- to 2-centimeter incisions. The “robot” translates the surgeon’s movements into micro-movements inside the patient’s body, allowing enhanced precision for complex procedures.
