When patients with heart and circulation problems come to Adena Health System, most notice right away that there is a familiar small town feel to our care. Much of the reason for that is because many of our physicians, nurses and other care team members have grown up right here in southern Ohio.

“Our physicians are local,” says Candice Kennedy, system director for cardiovascular, oncology and pulmonary services at Adena. “They are familiar with the people here and they care about the people. It makes it easy to give personalized care and our patients are very appreciative of that.”

But when you need heart care, our hometown warmth doesn’t mean small town results. The Adena Heart & Vascular Center is ranked among the top 10 percent of hospitals nationally for coronary intervention procedures, such as saving a patient who is suffering a heart attack.
