Adena Health System has purchased Ohio Valley Sports Medicine, and effective Thursday, November 1, Dr. Mitch Fields will join Adena Bone and Joint. An orthopaedic physician specializing in sports medicine, Dr. Fields has practiced in Chillicothe for more than 25 years. He founded Ohio Valley Sports Medicine in 1984.

"The addition of Dr. Mitch Fields to Adena Bone and Joint further strengthens Adena's orthopaedic and sports medicine expertise in our region," said Mark Shuter, Adena President & CEO.

Adena finalized the purchase of the property, building and fixed assets earlier this month utilizing bond financing. The property is located at the northeast entrance (State Route 159) to Adena Medical Center. Adena is analyzing future plans for the property.

Adena's Orthopaedic team of experts specialize in treating problems with bones, joints, ligaments and muscles. These can result from injuries, accidents, chronic conditions or sports injuries.
