Family doctor, Kristine McCallum, MD, with Adena Pickaway-Ross Family Physicians in Chillicothe, Ohio, chose to live in Southern Ohio because of the wide variety of outdoor activities found here.  Dr. McCallum is able to incorporate activities like running into counseling patients on exercise and lifestyle choices. 

Family practice allows Dr. McCallum get to know her patients as a whole person, looking beyond the disease to patients’ social wellbeing and family connections.  Getting to know the patients is a large part of being a family physician and this only happens over time.  Dr. McCallum has some patients she began seeing as teenagers and now they are bringing their children and aging parents to see her.  Dr. McCallum really enjoys nurturing these relationships.

As a family doctor at Adena Pickaway-Ross Family Physicians, Dr. McCallum provides comprehensive care to all ages.  This includes well child check-ups, back-to-school physicals, sports physicals, and immunizations.   Her schedule also leaves room for same-day visits in case of illness.  For adults, she provides annual physicals, preventive screening and preventive testing, as well as management of chronic conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, COPD and asthma. 

In addition to running the occasional marathon, Dr. McCallum also enjoys gardening, riding horses and hiking.
