Print Busy start to 2012
January 25, 2012
A new year has arrived, but our commitment to providing outstanding healthcare in Southern Ohio remains the same. We are beginning 2012 with a series of exciting events.
The year started with the opening of the new Adena Cancer Center, which adds a new dimension of care for people in this region. The freestanding center was designed with the help of patients and provides a wide assortment of amenities, not to mention sophisticated diagnostic and treatment technology.
Beginning in March, Adena Health System and Pike Health Services become affiliated. The agreement, which was approved by the two boards of trustees this past December, will provide patients in Pike County with more easily accessible services, specialties and technology.
We’ve expanded our services at Adena Family Medicine -- Greenfield by welcoming four new providers. While, the providers may be new to Adena, they have served the Greenfield area for a number of years. They are Dr. Richard Mizer and Dr. Christina DeLand, and Certified Nurse Practitioners Debra Wolf and Michele Dodds.
We are further extending convenient, local care to patients in our area with the opening of two walk-in clinics in Wal-Mart stores in Chillicothe and Washington Court House. The clinics will be staffed by nurse practitioners and will be open seven days a week.
These clinics help demonstrate our dedication to promoting economic growth in our community, while providing exceptional healthcare to the people of southern Ohio.
Although not an Adena initiative, the opening of the Hope Clinic, the only free clinic in Ross County serving patients without health insurance is something we’re proud of. Past and present Adena employees are involved in this selfless effort to help the less fortunate.
These are just a few of the highlights of what is in store for 2012. Our health system has grown significantly over the past several years and we are honored to continue to provide quality patient centered healthcare to the citizens of Southern Ohio.
