Employees from Adena Health System packed 700 bags of groceries at the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, as a way of helping the less fortunate in the area during Thanksgiving.

Members of the health system’s Strategy Division volunteered one afternoon last week for the special duty inside the food pantry in Chillicothe.

“It was the least we could do for those who are facing tough times this holiday season,” said Jeff Graham, Adena’s Chief Strategy Officer, and one of those who helped to pack 4,900 cans of food.
Later this week, high school students will help to distribute the bags to area residents.

Graham said the need is great in the area. In Ross County alone, the unemployment rate is about 9.7 percent.
