Media Policies and Services
Adena Health System recognizes its responsibility to provide accurate information to the public. Members of the media are encouraged to contact the Adena media staff when they have questions about the health system or health topics.
We’re proud of our record of providing the media with accurate and timely information. In return, we ask that you respect our obligation to protect patients’ well-being and legal right to privacy.
Media policies
• Media representatives will request information only through designated Adena media representatives and identify themselves as media representatives in all communications with Adena employees.
• No information will be provided that violates the confidentiality, privacy or legal rights of patients.
• All media visits to Adena facilities must be approved in advance by the health system’s media staff. When reporters are dispatched immediately, the assignment editor must contact the media staff in a timely fashion.
• All interviews with patients must be approved in advance by the Adena media staff.
• Photographs, film or video of Adena patients or Adena facilities will not be published or aired without permission of the patient or patient’s guardian, or the Adena media staff.
• Access to patients will be arranged by the Adena media staff, if approved first by the patient or patient’s guardian.
