Adena Kicks Off Walk With a Doc Program, March 30

Adena Health System is committed to encouraging healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reversing the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle. To improve the health and well-being of people in our region, the Health System will begin hosting a series of Walk with a Doc programs starting at Noon on Wednesday, Mar. 30.

Dr. Jennifer Davis of Adena Family Medicine will lead the free event each month, which includes a short health-related presentation and a free light lunch. The health discussion will take place in the Community Room of the Carlisle Building, and be followed by a walk with Dr. Davis through downtown Chillicothe and Yoctangee Park. The program is open to people of all ages and walking abilities.

The Walk with a Doc program will offer participants an opportunity to talk with Adena doctors and nurses in a casual setting, while walking toward better health.

“This is a great way for Adena caregivers to spend some time with members of our community outside of the office,” said Dr. Davis. “Walk with a Doc gives people an opportunity to learn and interact with physicians on a different level and get answers to questions about their health, while at the same time increasing their activity level.”

Adena Health System’s first Walk with a Doc program will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the Carlisle Building, which is located at the corner of Paint and Main Streets in downtown Chillicothe. Future Walk with a Doc programs will be held on the last Wednesday of each month throughout the remainder of the year at the same time and location.
