Adena Health System welcomes Rheumatologist, Kenneth Van Dyke, DO. His addition to the Adena Medical Group helps to fill a great need in the region for patients looking for a rheumatologist. Until Dr. Van Dyke’s arrival, patients have had to travel out of the area for care. Rheumatology involves the treatment of autoimmune conditions and inflammatory disease of the joints and connective tissue.
Dr. Van Dyke is certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine, specializing in Rheumatology. He looks forward to building his practice at Adena and getting to know his patients. Dr. Van Dyke explains why Adena is a perfect fit for him. “Growing up in a small town myself, I know it’s never the easiest thing to get certain specialties close by,” he said. “In a way, it’s kind of gratifying to be available for a population that didn’t necessarily have the help they needed before.”
Dr. Van Dyke attended Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Iowa. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and a fellowship in Rheumatology at Louisiana State University’s Health Science Center, located in New Orleans, LA.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Van Dyke was honored with The Distinguished Fellow Award, which is sponsored by The American College of Rheumatology. The Award recognizes the nation’s best clinical and research fellows in the field of Rheumatology.
