An Adena Regional Medical Center nurse has been nominated for the Ohio Hospital Association’s 2014 Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award. Robin Berno, MSN, BSN, RN has served patients at Adena for more than 23 years, and is currently the hospital’s manager of Surgical Services.
Robin was nominated for her “dedication to nurses, nursing, Adena Health System, and her community.” Nominators also describe Robin as “the epitome of a true role model. She motivates others to go above and beyond, and provides them with the resources needed to achieve their goals.”
Of being one of just 74 Ohio health care workers being recognized at the upcoming OHA Recognition Dinner, Robin is “humbled and honored.” She said, “I always want to do a good job because it’s the right thing to do. I love nursing and I believe it’s one of the most honorable jobs you can have.”
In addition to her work for Adena, Robin is instrumental in serving our community in a variety of ways, including organizing Adena’s annual Coats for Kids drive, which last year provided coats, hats and gloves to more than 500 area children. She and her husband, Dr. Jack Berno, are involved in several organizations that serve the Chillicothe area.
The OHA Recognition Dinner will be held Tuesday evening at the Hilton at Easton in Columbus.
