Adena Pike Medical Center Gets New Look
After four decades, Adena Pike Medical Center has a brand new look. This week the community was invited to check out the renovated patient rooms and nursing station.
This past winter repairs were needed because of water damage, so Adena leaders decided it was time for a much needed make over.
The original nursing station from 1973 was replaced and each of the 21 rooms received a makeover. Each room has new overhead lighting, paint, new sinks and countertops, and new HVAC units. Other upgrades include a remodeled patient shower area and new ceiling tiles in the hallway.
The total cost for the renovations and water damage repairs is estimated to be around $300,000.
More than one hundred people enjoyed a free cookout after touring the new facility and learning more about services offered at Adena. Guests were also entered to win one of three prizes: a family membership to the YMCA for a year, a boys bicycle and helmet and a girls bicycle and helmet.
After the cookout Dr. Justin Smith gave a short presentation on wellness and healthy eating and answered questions.
