Annual plant sale aimed at raising money for scholarships and more
Orders for this year’s plant sale, sponsored by the Women’s Board of Adena Regional Medical Center, are available now and need to be turned in by April 8 to the Adena Volunteer Office at 272 Hospital Road, Chillicothe. Cash and checks are accepted and checks should be made payable to “The Women’s Board.”
The plants will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 8 at the Lion’s Club Shelter House in Yoctangee Park.
Strader’s Garden Center in Grove City is providing the plants for the sale. Strader’s supplied the plants last year too, which includes varieties of hanging baskets, plotted plants and flats.
Proceeds from the plant sale will help fund the Healing Garden at the Adena Cancer Center. Money from the sale also will be used to help students interested in pursuing healthcare careers and to provide gifts for hospitalized children and birth plaques for newborns. Last year, more than 2,100 children benefited from the Children’s Fund.
Proceeds from the annual Charity Ball, which is sponsored by the Women’s Board, also are used for those special projects.
If you have questions about the sale, please call JoAnn White, Plant Sale Chairperson at 740-649-4337.
