Adena DaVita Dialysis
For people with chronic kidney disease or kidney failure, dialysis is an essential treatment.
When the kidneys don’t work properly, they are not able to filter and remove waste from the body. At the Adena DaVita dialysis clinic, we offer:
- Inpatient hemodialysis. This treatment uses a machine to slowly pump blood from the body into a filter called a dialyzer. Here, waste products and extra fluid are removed, and the filtered blood is pumped back into the body.
- Peritoneal dialysis. This treatment involves using a catheter to send a sterile solution called dialysate into the abdomen. The solution stays there for a period of time, which allows the waste, chemicals and extra fluid in your blood to pass into the solution. The dialysate and the waste products from your blood drain into a sterile collection bag to be disposed of at the end of the treatment.
