Adena Health System is accredited by the Ohio State Medical Association to provide Category 1 AMA PRA Credits for Continuing Medical Education [LINK to bottom of screen “About Continuing Medical Education”] (CME) for Physicians.
We partner with other institutions to develop collaborative events for the communities we serve. Here is a list of courses currently offered:
Designed to educate medical professionals on leadership expectations and spread awareness of Lean Sigma Principles. Participants will complete the Champion Training course to learn the tools and concepts of Lean Sigma, how to be a champion of a team, and the value of the Process Excellence program.
Review current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) guidelines and participate in intensive realistic scenarios in a simulated code blue environment. Participants are given adequate time for questions and answers with the instructor.
Scenarios include (but are not limited to): synchronized cardioversion, pulseless ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, PEA, asystole, symptomatic bradycardia and respiratory distress/failure.
Didactic Grand Rounds
This evidence-based, teamwork approach utilizes expert rcollaboration between senior physicians and newly graduated physicians to ensure that the most recent practice information and skills are being utilized. This opportunity builds teamwork and ensures the sharing of medical care knowledge between experienced providers and recent graduates (Specific topic objectives are identified from evidence-based data for each session.)
These monthly seminars were developed to help establish coordinated, unified, multi-specialty practices and promote patient-centered, protocol-driven, literature-based care while incorporating standard outcome measures.
Participants will discuss how to improve the quality of spinal care in the region while providing educational and practical guidelines to a broad audience. (Specific topics are identified from evidence-based data for each session.).

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider and Renewal Courses
These courses are designed to equip participants with the cognitive and psychomotor skills necessary to recognize, resuscitate, and stabilize an infant or child in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest.
Join us to discuss cancer cases prospectively before treatment begins and provide multi-specialty care decisions after diagnosis. All tumor boards are for Adena staff and students only and are held at the Adena Cancer Center in the Ribbons of Hope conference room. Tumor boards are walk-in style and registration is not required.
Breast Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon–1 p.m.
Head and Neck Wednesdays, 7–7:30 a.m.
Colorectal Wednesdays, 7:30–8:30 a.m.
Chest Thursdays, 7:30–8:30 a.m.
